Opportunity Awaits: Big Data Engineer Role

As TMX continues to grow, we are seeking a seasoned Big Data Engineer to enhance our Enterprise Data and Advanced Analytics Platform. This role is perfect for those who thrive in building and optimizing data systems, enjoy working with large, complex datasets, and are passionate about using their skills to drive significant technical improvements.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipeline architecture
• Manage data gathering, processing, and analysis for multiple projects
• Implement process improvements for data handling and analytics
• Oversee AWS services management including, but not limited to S3, EC2, and RDS
• Support the integration of new data management technologies and software engineering tools

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent experience
• 5+ years in IT with strong expertise in Big Data technologies (Spark, Hive, Presto)
• Proficiency in AWS cloud services and solid programming skills in Python, Scala, or Shell scripting
• Understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and software development in Agile environments
