The Opportunity

Collaborate closely with clients to understand their needs, guiding and leading your team in the development of cutting-edge algorithms and systems. Utilize a blend of tools and frameworks to transform complex data into actionable insights, aiding clients in making well-informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret both structured and unstructured data
- Develop predictive models, perform quantitative analysis, and visualize targeted data sources
- Implement advanced AI and machine learning techniques including deep learning and generative models
- Conduct genomics data analysis using next-generation sequencing and open-source genomics tools
- Work with clinical or environmental microbiology, epidemiology, biosurveillance, and public health data
Qualifications
Required:
- 8+ years of experience in biosurveillance, bioinformatics, health data, or genomics data science
- Proficiency in handling both structured and unstructured data sources
- Experience in developing predictive data models and data visualizations
- Advanced knowledge of AI and machine learning techniques
- Familiarity with next-generation sequencing and genomics data analysis tools
- Background in clinical or environmental microbiology, epidemiology, biosurveillance, and public health
- Ability to obtain a security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree
Preferred:
- Experience with data exploration, cleaning, analysis, visualization, or mining
- Proficiency in statistical and programming languages such as Python or R
- Experience leading complex program development
- Knowledge of algorithm development using R, Python, SQL, or NoSQL
- Experience with cloud-based data analysis platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Familiarity with distributed data tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc.)
- Knowledge of data visualization packages (Plotly, Seaborn, ggplot2)
- Ability to work independently and manage teams effectively
- Strong communication skills for conveying complex concepts
- Capability to write technical and scientific manuscripts and white papers

Compensation
Our compensation range for this position is $96,600.00 to $220,000.00 (annualized USD), based on factors like location, education, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific requirements.
