Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Business Intelligence Analyst II to join our team. The role involves conducting research, preparing financial analyses and reports, and providing essential financial information to help management set and achieve bank objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide cross-training and support to new team members.
• Compile and analyze data, offering recommendations to management based on findings and trends.
• Assist in project design and potentially lead projects of moderate scope.
• Research and compile raw data from various sources to create moderately complex reports and schedules.
• Suggest and implement improvements to existing forecast models and pro forma analysis.
• Enhance the sustainability and documentation of assigned tasks and processes.
• Utilize judgment to identify meaningful information from data analysis.
• Demonstrate proficiency in systems/tools for generating periodic financial reports.
• Show foundational understanding of finance and accounting concepts through aggregation of financial data.
• Display knowledge of M&T’s financial statements and key drivers/trends in major Balance Sheet and Income Statement line items.
• Participate in training and development opportunities across Finance and other supported businesses.
• Adhere to department timelines, deliverables, and the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
• Identify and escalate risk-related issues to management as necessary.
• Support a diverse environment that reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including addressing any audit points from internal or external regulators.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities

May provide training to junior staff members.

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, auditing, operations, or financial institutions.
• OR an Associate's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
• Good knowledge of finance and accounting concepts and basic knowledge of the banking industry.
• High level of PC competencies including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access. Familiarity with data visualization or data querying applications is a plus.

Education and Experience Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
