Job Description Summary
The Business Intelligence Analyst collaborates with business leaders to comprehend and address business intelligence needs. This role involves translating requirements into actionable solutions that enhance business performance, decision-making, and customer offerings. You will document and measure operational processes to facilitate informed business decisions, engage in standard data management practices, and use BI tools and architectures to deliver cutting-edge dashboards, reports, and capabilities efficiently.
This NY hybrid position requires 2 days a week (Tuesday & Wednesday) in Downtown New York City (New York-Liberty St office) and reports to the Director of Business Analysis - FCC HQ, under the VP of FCC Data Analytics and Operational Excellence - FCC HQ.
Job Qualifications (Minimum)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math, statistics, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: At least 1 year in business intelligence, data, reporting, or analytics.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Power BI, HTML, C/C++, Javascript, R, and Python. Familiarity with Visio, PowerPoint, and process documentation skills such as process mapping and timelines.
- Database Knowledge: Understanding of relational database concepts and data warehousing for BI applications.
- Analytical Skills: Rapid acquisition of qualitative and statistical analysis skills.
- Additional: Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participates in cross-functional BI projects and initiatives, adhering to BI team standards and best practices.
- Supports BI and data management teams on BW and database requirements for reporting and analytics.
- Interprets business processes through methods like process mapping, data stories, and data visualizations.
- Involves in the design, development, and testing of dashboards and reports using BI applications.
- Ensures compliance with testing best practices for new or modified dashboards and reports.
- Documents and stores data definitions, relationships, linkages, and sources per established best practices.
- Conducts research to improve or create new BI capabilities that support business initiatives.
- Ensures that BI solutions deliver actionable insights or data streams meeting functional area goals and end-user expectations.
- Identifies and resolves data discrepancies, suggesting improvements or next steps.
- Translates business objectives into analytical or reporting solutions and communicates findings to business leaders.
- Engages in continuous improvement efforts through collaborative interactions with business leaders.
