About Microsoft CO+I

At Microsoft, the Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) team is the backbone of the cloud. Within this team, the Infrastructure Planning and Acquisition (IPA) division is essential in driving early-stage planning and acquisition functions, enabling the cloud of tomorrow. The Energy team, a crucial part of IPA, ensures our datacenters have the necessary power while supporting Microsoft's ambitious renewable energy targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models that support various reports and self-service users.
  • Create Power BI reports to provide the Energy team with data insights for monitoring operations, analyzing performance, and tracking progress.
  • Collaborate with users and stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize features, and ensure good design.
  • Work closely with CO+I Engineering to maintain report stability across deployments.
  • Commit to continuous improvement through comprehensive documentation, adherence to agile methodology, and measuring success.
  • Stay updated on technology and actively participate in the BI Center of Excellence.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field AND 2+ years experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or data modeling, OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of industry experience in building and managing Power BI reports.

Other Requirements

The ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is mandatory for this role. These include the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in DAX and Power Query development.
  • Experience in building Power BI semantic models.
  • Experience in modeling data from sources like Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, SAP, or other ERP systems.

Compensation and Benefits

Typical base pay range across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 annually. For specific locations like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City, the range is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year. Certain roles may also offer additional benefits and compensation. Find more details here: .
