About the Role:

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a driven Business Intelligence Intern to join our renowned GTS Urban Rail Signaling team in Toronto, starting May - December 2024. This role involves critical activities to support various engineering and operational objectives using advanced BI tools and methodologies. You'll be working under the guidance of our Engineering Operations Director, with daily coordination by our Deputy-Process Owner & Continuous Improvement Lead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize high-integrity PowerBI dashboards.
  • Analyze data from engineering and enterprise tools to enhance operations.
  • Implement UI/UX principles to align dashboards with user requirements.
  • Drive digital transformation by identifying gaps in data maturity and recommending improvements.
  • Provide training and technical support to end-users for PowerBI and related technologies.
  • Design and document ETL (Extraction, Transformation, and Loading) processes.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in English with exemplary organizational skills.
  • Strong experience in creating PowerBI dashboards, UI/UX design, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of ETL, scripting languages like Python, and the ability to deliver detailed presentations.
  • Availability to work full-time throughout the internship, with a minimum of 2 days per week on-site in our Toronto office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year completed towards a degree in Engineering, Design, or a related field.
