Position Summary

We are seeking a Business Manager, Pharma based in Mumbai. Reporting to the Country Sales Leader – India & SWA, the ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the pharma market and an understanding of TOC/Particle Counting/Characterization product lines and applications. The ability to manage large pharma key accounts, drive project business, and manage OEMs are crucial for succeeding in this role.

Job Purpose

The Business Manager, Pharma, will be responsible for the growth and expansion of direct sales and profit margins within assigned accounts or territory/region for our products and services. Establishing professional relationships with key personnel in customer accounts and meeting assigned targets for profitable sales volume and margin dollars are essential duties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive results through exceptional leadership skills, promoting a culture of continuous improvement to achieve optimum performance individually, as a team, and in distributor management.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies by identifying potential customers and market opportunities, crafting sales plans, and setting targets to meet business objectives.
  • Build and maintain robust customer relationships by understanding their needs and providing suitable solutions.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals by collaborating with customers to understand their requirements, determining pricing and terms, and achieving revenue targets.
  • Utilize internal resources to offer technical expertise and support related to TOC and PCC products, addressing customer challenges.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, and customer support, to ensure customer satisfaction and drive business growth.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and technological advancements related to TOC and PCC products, providing feedback to relevant teams for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, prepare sales reports, and analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Represent the company at industry events such as trade shows and conferences to network, promote products, and gather market intelligence.
  • Exhibit strong people leadership skills to manage multiple stakeholders and direct marketing team members, providing knowledge, advice, direction, and feedback regularly.
  • Conduct midterm and annual P4G/D4G reviews to ensure direct team members have a clear developmental or growth plan aligned with their career aspirations.
  • Directly manage the field sales team, ensuring their activities align with sales priorities, and conduct funnel review calls to meet KPI and targets monthly.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Master's degree in Life Sciences is preferred.
  • 8-10+ years of experience in Pharma, BioPharma, Industry, Healthcare, or Life Sciences at India and regional levels is preferred.
  • Experience within the Life Science Industry is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to plan and organize work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage internal stakeholders and operate within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of QC Processes and FDA regulations is preferred.
