Key Role

As a Chief AI Engineer, you will lead a dynamic engineering team in designing, developing, and delivering advanced software engineering frameworks and toolkits for enterprise AI solutions. You will provide senior-level engineering expertise and mentorship to mid-to-large sized teams, ensuring software engineering designs meet high standards for quality and reusability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of services and capabilities. Act as a strategic advisor, aligning AI solutions with business needs, creating innovative approaches to client requirements, and building collaborative relationships with clients and partners. Offer technical and project management support for large-scale data, analytics, and AI capabilities while interacting with senior leadership to manage scope, schedule, milestones, risks, and quality delivery of capabilities, services, and deliverables.

Basic Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience leading large multi-team software development projects, including architecture solutioning, defining technical designs, and overseeing all aspects of delivery
• 10+ years of experience with software development in object-oriented programming languages, along with data structures and algorithms
• Experience leading an engineering team in the development and maintenance of a production system
• Proficiency in service-oriented architecture principles for designing open, modular software systems
• Experience with modern technologies such as Agile, DevOps, Cloud, and open platforms
• Proven track record in designing and developing large software systems or reusable frameworks
• Ability to lead strategic planning discussions, define business objectives, prioritize engineering goals, and mitigate risks
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Additional Qualifications

• Experience with scalable data workflows using tools like Apache Spark or other parallel processing tools for large datasets
• Knowledge of various data storage technologies and databases, including data lakes, relational, non-relational, and graph data storage
• Experience developing machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills

Compensation

At Booz Allen, we recognize your contributions and offer a range of health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, as well as paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work-life programs, and dependent care. Our recognition awards program acknowledges exceptional performance. Full-time and part-time employees working at least 20 hours weekly are eligible for benefits, with some exceptions. The salary range for this position is $139,400.00 to $259,000.00 annually. This estimate represents a typical salary range for this role and is one component of our total compensation package.
