Responsibilities

  • Develop image processing algorithms (L0 to L4 as described in EOSDIS) for images captured by multi-spectral satellite cameras,
  • Create AI algorithms for satellite based remote sensing applications,
  • Design, tailor, and utilize ML/DL models,
  • Support pre-launch and post-launch calibration activities,
  • Assist in focal plane assembly characterization operations,
  • Implement the image processing pipeline for individual payload,
  • Keep up with the state-of-the-art in ML/DL and report,
  • Work in conjunction with systems, hardware, and software engineers for the continuous improvement of the image processing pipeline.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree or preferably a Doctorate from Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant fields with a strong foundation in digital signal processing,
  • Experience and familiarity with satellite-based remote sensing applications,
  • Experience and understanding of ML/DL model development, optimization, and deployment,
  • In-depth knowledge and comprehension of image formation, image processing and computer vision, statistical signal processing,
  • At least 3+ years of experience in image processing and computer vision,
  • Strong command in C/C++, Python, and Octave,
  • Experience with at least one ML/DL frameworks, e.g., Tensorflow, Pytorch, etc.
  • Understanding of geometric and radiometric effects on electro-optical payloads,
  • Familiarity and experience with the Linux operating system, shell scripting and software version control (e.g., git, svn, etc.),
  • Experience with on-board image processing hardware,
  • Familiarity and experience with multiview geometry,
  • Excellent proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking,
  • A self-starter, proactive in finding the best and fastest way to make accurate decisions.
