Job Description
We are recruiting a Clinical Research Engineer for our Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery R&D division. We deliver advanced medical device software solutions for intricate procedures in Neurosurgery and Neurology, particularly for the management of movement disorders like Parkinson's Disease and epilepsy. This covers Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and Stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG), for instance. Our goal is to facilitate optimized and scalable functional neurosurgery workflows, ultimately improving patient outcomes and broadening treatment accessibility globally.
In the role of a Clinical Research Engineer, you will be located in our Munich headquarters and serve as a critical link between R&D, Marketing, Product Management, Clinical Affairs, and clients. Your role is crucial for interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, maximizing the influence of the products we develop, and highlighting their respective clinical benefits to healthcare professionals. Your duties would encompass:
- Managing clinical research projects in collaboration with external and internal stakeholders, inclusive of supervision through virtual meetings or on-site visits, ensuring the projects align with defined methodologies, objectives, and deliverables.
- Aligning clinical research projects with post-market clinical follow-up plans and clinical marketing claims.
- Assisting with clinical evaluations, including technical and clinical state-of-the-art literature searches, device-related literature searches, literature appraisal, and analysis.
- Contributing to internal and external product education, including service instructions and clinical user guides.
- Supporting R&D activities with clinical knowledge.
- Attending conferences, trade shows, workshops, and seminars to stay informed about new developments and trends and sharing these insights with R&D, Product Management, and Marketing.
- Observing clinical cases to gain in-depth understanding of clinical workflow and our Functional Neurosurgery product range.
- Establishing and enhancing professional relationships with customers.
Qualifications
- A degree in Neuroscience, Medicine, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and a methodical working style.
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
- Analytical thinking and creativity in problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision in a diverse team environment.
- Willingness to travel 5% of the time.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, proficiency in German is a plus.
- Prior knowledge in the field of neurosurgery and/or neurology is advantageous.
