Opportunity Overview

State Street is actively seeking a highly skilled Cloud Big Data Developer - Officer to contribute to our Advanced Compliance Technology Group. As part of our dynamic team, you will work within a cloud environment utilizing technologies such as Databricks, machine learning, and niche vendor products. This vital role focuses on developing solutions for our AML (Anti-Money Laundering) Transaction Monitoring Program and other compliance frameworks. Candidates will be based in Boston, working closely with both technical and business units in an agile setting.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cloud Big Data Developer, you will:

• Develop applications using Scala, Spark, Python, and other programming languages.
• Lead vendor product implementation and customization efforts.
• Manage entire development cycles, from development to production rollout.
• Work within a multi-location agile environment, aligning with business and technology teams.
• Adhere to standards in application development, data engineering, performance, and security.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

What will make you successful in this role:

• Self-driven with strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven, hands-on experience with large-scale, multi-tenant development.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with multiple stakeholders and senior management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in application development using Spark, Scala, or Python.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Scala, Hive, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of public cloud technologies like AWS, Databricks will be considered an advantage.
