About Your New Role

Do you want to be part of one of the world’s fastest-growing data warehouses at the world's most impactful company? Are you excited about tackling complex database design and optimization challenges? If so, our role as Cloud Data Platform Engineer might be perfect for you.

The Global Business Intelligence (GBI) team is looking for an experienced, results-oriented database expert. This role involves enhancing our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) that supports the analytical and reporting needs of hundreds of global users. As a proactive and motivated individual, you will ensure our data-warehousing platforms are scalable and high-performing.

This position requires close collaboration with development, product teams, database administrators, and support teams. You will be driving performance optimizations, leading automation efforts, and providing second-level support for platform-wide issues.

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in relational cloud-based database technologies like Snowflake
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
  • Expertise in Snowflake performance tuning, capacity planning, and managing cloud spend
  • Strong skills in database security, cross-regional data replication, and recovery
  • Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, especially in compute, storage, and security services

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in physical model reviews to enhance performance
  • Lead continuous analysis and optimization of the database environment
  • Implement and test new database features, and facilitate their adoption
  • Manage workload to meet response-time SLAs and optimize resource consumption

Education & Experience

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required.

Apple offers a competitive compensation package including a salary range from $138,900 to $256,500, depending on your qualifications and experience.
