Our co-operative program for Amazon Robotics is based out of the Greater Boston Area, in our cutting-edge facilities in Westborough, MA, and North Reading, MA. Both campuses offer the distinctive opportunity of direct access to robotics testing labs and manufacturing facilities. This position is a six-month co-op that begins full time (40 hours/week) from January to June 2024.
As a Robotics Deployment Readiness Co-Op for Amazon Robotics, you'll work with an exceptional team and delve into challenging technical issues to drive the implementation of Amazon's groundbreaking robotics technologies in its fulfillment, transportation, and delivery network. This role necessitates a unique combination of engineering expertise, problem-solving ability, curiosity, innovation, leadership, and effective communication. You will support the deployment team remotely and sometimes travel onsite. You will focus on identifying unique, innovative ways to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of site deployments through a combination of people, process and technology. In North America, you'll work on projects serving Amazon’s Fulfillment, Transportation, and Delivery networks.
Key job responsibilities:
• Review New Product Introduction (NPI) robotic technologies, evaluate design for deployment scalability, and provide Design for Deployment (DfD) feedback to upstream engineering teams
• Support deployment process improvement for New Product Introduction (NPI) technologies, test processes virtually and in-field to validate and iterate upon Design for Deployment feedback
• Collaborate with business teams to define and resolve customer impacting issues
• Delve into technical details and provide innovative solutions for issues
• Identify and resolve basic system problems by performing troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Improve deployment efficiency and user experience by providing feedback to stakeholders
• Maintain and update knowledge repository, document best practices, and review and update training documents
• As needed, travel to various Amazon sites, with expected travel up to 75%

Basic Qualifications:
• Pursuing BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or other related technical fields
• Currently enrolled in College/University and have at least one semester/term/quarter of school still to complete after the end of the co-op
• Must be eligible and available for a full-time (40h/week) six-month co-op between January and June 2024
• Experienced with setting up and configuring technology software, hardware, and robotics projects
• Interest in supporting hardware and software during the initial system deployment
• Capable of managing onsite relationships with both internal and external teams during onsite deployment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Capability to operate in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating innovative problem-solving skills
• Experience in understanding and enhancing operational procedures
• Experience in fields such as manufacturing, warehouses, or construction sites
• A basic understanding of networking and network topologies, including routers, switches, and firewalls
• Technical proficiency including familiarity with Linux, Java, XML, Python, SQL, and database administration (MySQL, Oracle, etc.)
• Experience using tools such as AutoCAD, MS Visio, SCADA and industrial automation software
• Self-driven with the ability to solve problems independently and in teams
• Comfort working both as a team member and/or as a solo performer
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• A valid US driver's license
