Job Overview

Marathon Oil, a leading independent natural gas and oil company, is looking for a motivated HES College Learner to join our Technical Services Team in Houston, TX. This role offers a hands-on experience in managing data entry, analysis, visualization, and reporting, crucial for real-world applications in a dynamic workplace.

Responsibilities

As a College Learner, you will:

• Perform precise data entry and maintain the accuracy and integrity of our data systems.
• Identify and suggest improvements to current data workflows.
• Analyze data to detect trends, create insights, and aid in decision making.
• Design and upkeep data visualizations and dashboards.
• Generate reports and presentations based on data analyses.
• Work collaboratively on projects that require data-driven solutions.
• Help develop and enforce data management protocols.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:

• Currently a junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Management, or related field, with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Able to work onsite at Marathon Oil’s Houston office.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Spotfire) is advantageous.
• Experienced in database management and adept at querying and manipulating large data sets.
• Knowledgeable in data cleaning, preprocessing, and machine learning algorithms is a plus.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer without sponsorship.
