About This Role

As a Commerce Data Engineer, you'll build and maintain the data foundation of the Commerce business unit. You'll automate and aggregate data from internal systems and external vendors and agencies. Collaborating with analysts and Commerce leadership, you'll create data models powering business intelligence and analytics across business planning, cohort analysis, trial experiences, and direct purchases.

You'll thrive in our fast-paced, high-performing environment if you possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Entry-level exposure to database design, comfort dealing with large data sets, and experience using cloud-based tools and visualization tools are essential.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using tools like Matillion ETL.
  • Optimize data workflows and implement best practices for data management and governance.
  • Develop and maintain a data platform automating and aggregating data from internal and external sources.
  • Monitor, resolve, and document data alert issues or outages, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for datasets, data engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Educate partners by identifying and addressing gaps in existing processes using your data and analytics experience.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 1-3 years of industry experience in Data Engineering, BI Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with ETL tools and processes, specifically Matillion, and with Snowflake.
  • Strong SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing skills.
  • Hands-on development experience in Python or a similar scripting language for automation.
  • Effective communication skills across multiple media: presentations, dashboards, datasets, bots, etc.
  • Understanding of development processes and agile methodologies.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salesforce, Bizible, Marketo.
  • Experience with Tableau, Git, and Linux.
  • Background in eCommerce or Business Management is a plus.
