Job Description

Are you passionate about using science to make a real-world impact? Our Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory Team in the Department of Pathology is seeking a skilled Computational Biologist I who is adept at utilizing next-generation sequencing technologies to uncover genetic and molecular mutations in patient tumors. This vital work supports personalized patient care by guiding treatment decisions and clinical trial enrollments.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Interpret next-generation sequencing results for clinical decision-making.
  • Develop and execute computational pipelines for analyzing sequencing data.
  • Identify and annotate genetic mutations linked to cancer in tumor samples.
  • Assess new technology platforms within the diagnostic field.
  • Work alongside research teams to solve complex scientific problems using bioinformatics.
  • Enhance bioinformatics tools for handling extensive genomic datasets.
  • Test and evaluate third-party software for bioinformatics applications.
  • Maintain meticulous records of your analysis and share findings with the scientific community.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • 2-5 years of experience in Next-Generation Sequencing and cancer genomics.
  • Profound cross-disciplinary analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Python.

Compensation
