ERM, a global leader in sustainability consultancy, is eagerly seeking a motivated and dynamic Consultant, Environmental Scientist/Wetland Delineator to enhance our Impact Assessment team in Houston, Texas. This role presents a remarkable opportunity for junior professionals aiming to elevate their career with a globally recognized sustainability firm.

Position Overview

In this role, you will become an integral part of the Impact Assessment Team at ERM and contribute high-quality analytical support in a junior scientist capacity. The opportunity includes both office and field work, where you will be expected to travel domestically up to 75% of the time to conduct essential fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities

As a Wetland Delineator, your tasks will involve:

  • Providing technical analyses under guidance, working across teams with diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Conducting safe fieldwork in compliance with both ERM and client safety standards.
  • Delineating wetlands using the 1987 Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual and relevant regional supplements.
  • Documenting Ordinary High Water Mark (OHWM) and assessing geophysical characteristics of water bodies.
  • Performing habitat assessments and assisting in environmental permit applications.
  • Engaging directly with clients and stakeholders, contributing to the development of ERM's service offerings.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A BA/BS or Master’s degree in a natural science discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience, including two field seasons in wetland delineation.
  • Proficiency with GPS technology and strong map interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • A valid driver’s license with a robust driving record.
