Your New Role: Counsel, International Privacy at Warner Bros. Discovery

As a member of our Privacy Legal team, your expertise will be central to advancing WBD’s consumer-first global privacy strategy. You will play a key role in ensuring our company complies with various international privacy and data-related legal requirements, such as GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. Your work will enable the seamless launch of new products and help maintain the trust of our consumers by embedding privacy-by-design into our operations.

Your responsibilities will include providing legal advice on global privacy laws, assisting with the management of data incidents, and developing training programs to enhance our privacy practices. Collaborate across departments to support our streaming services, including Max, and other consumer-facing brands like CNN and Eurosport.

Role Accountabilities

Your key accountabilities in this role will involve:

• Advising on consumer data privacy for launches and existing operations, acting as an escalation point for privacy concerns.
• Supporting on employee data privacy issues in collaboration with the Employment Legal team.
• Assisting in the development and maintenance of our privacy policies and compliance frameworks.
• Conducting legal analyses and researching data privacy laws to ensure global compliance.
• Developing and maintaining internal data protection impact assessments and compliance documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Must be a UK solicitor or hold an equivalent legal practice qualification in Europe.
• Experience in a law firm or in-house, ideally with exposure to privacy law and complex international environments.
• Strong skills in negotiation and drafting of contracts and legal documents.
• Expertise in data privacy, especially in consumer and employee contexts.
• Background in IP, commercial contracts, digital advertising, ad-tech, and marketing is desirable.

Hybrid Working Model

This position is designed as a hybrid role, allowing you the flexibility to work both remotely and in-office as per our current company policies and agreed upon with your manager. Please note that this arrangement can be modified to suit business needs following appropriate notice.
