Minimum Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of industry experience focusing on high-performance CPU, DSP, AI architecture, microarchitecture, performance, or design.
- Proven experience in performance modeling, analysis, correlation, and workload characterization.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python.

Preferred Qualifications

- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, with a focus on computer architecture or machine learning.
- Expertise in leading CPU, DSP, or AI microarchitecture exploration, performance model development, and performance analysis.
- Familiarity with processor instruction set architectures (e.g., ARM, RISC-V, x86).
- Knowledge of system software components including Linux, drivers, and runtime.
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of collaborating with US or EMEA teams.

About the Job

As a CPU-AI Architecture and Performance Architect, your main responsibilities will include enhancing processor instruction set architectures, developing innovative microarchitecture features, and delivering cutting-edge SoC products for Google. You will collaborate with teams across Google, including Android applications and AI, to plan and conduct performance analysis and benchmarking across various design phases.

Responsibilities

- Plan and evaluate ARM’s architecture features from architectural and performance perspectives.
- Create and iterate on performance models for in-depth performance analysis and microarchitecture studies.
- Define and draft CPU-AI micro-architecture specifications.
- Lead collaboration efforts with RTL, design verification, and physical design teams to craft high-performance and efficient CPU-AI implementations.
- Drive performance correlations between performance models and RTL implementations, including micro-benchmark development and pre-silicon and post-silicon performance bug triage.
