About the Role

The Cryptography Research Engineer Intern role is an integral part of our RippleX Research team. RippleX is committed to fostering the Internet of Value by making new technologies accessible and transforming current global operations. Our work supports the digital economy by:

• Providing technical support and resources for developing applications that expedite and simplify digital value transfers.
• Empowering a community aimed at democratizing digital economic participation.
• Utilizing blockchain infrastructure backed by RippleX, owned collectively.

What You Will Do

The selected candidate will:

• Explore and develop next-generation cryptographic algorithms and protocols to enhance the crypto ecosystem and XRPL.
• Collaborate across product and engineering teams to translate complex projects into actionable roadmaps.
• Independently conceptualize proof of concepts, draft technical specifications, and author academic papers.
• Engage extensively with the engineering team to implement your innovative ideas.
• Participate in and influence global standards through involvement in conferences, workshops, and various community engagements.

Who You Are

Ideal candidates should have:

• Advanced knowledge of blockchain cryptography and a deep understanding of secure cryptographic protocols.
• Expertise in Python, C/C++, Rust, or Go, and familiarity with cryptographic libraries.
• A strong foundation in elliptic curve cryptography, multi-party computation, and other privacy-preserving technologies.
• Enthusiasm for decentralized technology and a continuous learning mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Current enrollment in a PhD program related to Cryptography, Computer Security, or a similar field.

Knowledge of XRPL or direct experience in Crypto/Blockchain, while advantageous, is not mandatory.
