The Enterprise Data Team at Hearst is seeking a Data Analyst, Data Product Development to be an integral part of our data-driven decision-making process. Based in New York City, this role focuses on leveraging consumer data and content-related datasets to drive strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced tools and analytical methods to provide comprehensive performance and user engagement insights, enabling informed decision-making for stakeholders.
  • Analyze and interpret large datasets, incorporating data from internal systems and third-party platforms.
  • Proactively explore data to answer critical business questions, highlighting areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain reports to track KPIs related to identity resolution, consumer engagement, content consumption, and advertising effectiveness.
  • Execute and manage queries for ongoing and ad hoc insights generation.
  • Use data visualization tools to effectively present performance metrics.
  • Foster strong internal relationships with data leads across Hearst Consumer Media.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data engineering, preferably within media, publishing, or marketing sectors.
  • Proficiency in SQL, with experience in data mining and data warehousing (Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Experience with identity and audience measurement solutions.
  • Advanced skills in building reports and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, presentation, and delivery skills.

Compensation and Benefits

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst includes a reasonable compensation estimate for this role in New York City, ranging from $100,000 to $115,000. For candidates outside of New York City, the salary range will be aligned with the specific location. The final salary will be based on several factors, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and education.
