Position Summary

We are looking for a skilled Analytics Consultant to enhance athenahealth’s fee-for-service consulting capabilities. This role involves the design, development, and delivery of BI solutions to improve the financial and business performance of clients on athenaNet, Data View, and BI applications from third parties. You will manage multiple engagements and deliver results that address business issues related to data warehousing and custom analytics.

Essential Functions

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Managing customer-specific data warehousing and BI consulting engagements to ensure high client satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to develop and refine a suite of data service offerings.
  • Assisting in selling consulting services, including scoping, proposing, and presenting to clients.
  • Performing analyses, summarizing findings, generating deliverables, and presenting reports.
  • Mentoring and coaching teammates on revenue cycle and clinical application data flows.
  • Building effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and peers.
  • Meeting departmental timeliness and productivity metrics.
  • Undertaking other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Required

Candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Arts or Science.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience.
  • Knowledge of healthcare clinical and financial products, familiarity with athenaClinicals, athenaCollector, or other EMR applications.
  • Experience with Snowflake, SQL Server, data warehousing, data modeling, and SQL scripting.
  • Proficiency in BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or PrecisionBI.
  • Project management experience in scoping and estimating custom solution deliverables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including data mining.
  • Preferred experience as a practice administrator/manager or in consulting.

  • The ability to manage multiple detail-intensive and time-sensitive tasks.
  • The ability to lead and influence others to achieve desired results.
  • Willingness to travel nationally (20-30%).
