Job Overview

We are seeking a talented Data Architect to ensure data availability and quality for analysis and business transactions. Collaborate closely with data scientists and engineers to understand data domains and relationships, model new and existing data, suggest harmonization techniques for disparate data sources, and devise new data analysis approaches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data/Information Vision and Strategy: Identify future data uses and anticipate business results to support these needs.
  • Data Planning/Modelling and Data Lifecycle Design: Develop a technical strategy for future data structures and integrations.
  • Enterprise Data Expertise: Understand data relationships, quality, business data needs, and associated technologies.
  • Business-IT Collaboration: Challenge the status quo and enhance business execution through data strategies.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse data from multiple domains, discover trends, and assist non-expert users in finding similar trends.
  • Efficient Data Exchange: Facilitate scalable data exchange with external partners using industry standards.
  • Cutting-edge Technologies: Use advanced information technologies to organize and analyze data.
  • Public Data Extension: Extend publicly available data sets, ontologies, and taxonomies for internal use.
  • Technological Trends: Continuously scan and incorporate new trends and techniques with external consultants and thought leaders.
  • Scalable Data Integration: Develop new approaches for data integration and communicate these effectively to stakeholders.
  • Quality Validation: Work with the Computer Systems Quality team to validate solutions.
  • Technical Issue Resolution: Identify, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues.
  • Agile Sprints: Collaborate with business-facing project teams in Agile Sprints.

Required Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in designing large-scale data models (Conceptual, Logical, Physical, and Dimensional).
  • 7+ years of expertise in statistical methods, data modeling, ontology development, semantic graph construction, and relational schema design.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
  • Experience with AWS cloud-based data solutions.
  • Experience with security models and large data sets.
  • Proficiency with multiple database solutions (e.g., Postgres, Redshift, Aurora, Athena) and formal database designs (3NF, Dimensional Models).
  • Ability to analyze large, complex data domains and develop practical solutions for data exploitation through analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Proficiency in Agile Development, Jira, CI/CD, and GitHub.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity, innovation interest, and strong problem-solving skills.
