Join Our Health Surveillance and Analytics Team
CACI is seeking a Data Architect to join our Health Surveillance and Analytics team. As a Data Architect, you will design and maintain data repositories, data lakes, data models, and resilient data ingest pipelines to meet current and future customer needs. Additionally, you will develop data models that enable reporting and analysis on cloud-based analytics platforms.
Location: Remote; Atlanta, GA is preferable (for client site visits)
About the Role
As a Data Architect you will:
- Design and maintain secure data repositories, data lakes, delta lakes, and data models.
- Lead and maintain cloud-based data catalogs for governance and discovery using tools such as Azure Data Catalog and Alation.
- Possess experience in the public or government health industry.
- Ensure data stores allow robust retrieval to support reporting and analytics.
- Develop scalable and resilient data ingest pipelines that allow data streaming and accommodate structures utilized by public health entities for information exchange.
- Monitor performance of ingest pipelines and address bottlenecks/SLA issues.
- Ensure integration with reporting and analytics platforms utilized.
- Devise and implement disaster recovery and data backup plans. Ensure customer SLAs can be met for recovery/failover.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree + 15 years in the industry or MA/MS + 12 years in the industry
- 10+ years of experience in designing large data repositories, including application of recognized performance optimization techniques such as partitioning, indexing, and enablement of full-text searches.
- Experience architecting scalable storage solutions using the Azure cloud.
- Experience with Databricks lakehouse including Delta Lake
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL, and Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Demonstrated expertise in building and evolving data models ensuring integrity of data sets.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing methodologies and data modeling concepts.
- Understanding of data sets collected, transformed, and maintained by public health agencies such as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
- Ability to communicate (verbally and written) in English, in a clear, concise manner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting cloud-based data repositories (data lakes, etc.) used by epidemiologists, public health data scientists and analysts, and/or public health information systems.
