Role Impact:

As a Data Architect, you will leverage your expertise in designing, developing, and supporting data models for analytics solutions, guiding the data architecture aspect of other solutions within Cadillac Fairview's business ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with D&T teams and external vendors to gather and translate information requirements into data-centric solutions.
• Ensure alignment of data architecture practices for modeling, stored procedures, replication, regulations, and security to meet technical and business objectives.
• Advise Cadillac Fairview’s solution architects on data architecture and participate in the review and approval of proposed solution architectures.
• Document data architecture work following industry standards.
• Continuously improve the quality, consistency, accessibility, and security of data activities across the company.

What You Will Deliver:

• Deliver high-quality outcomes, including data services/processes, data flow and consumption, and system enhancements adhering to existing standards and guidelines.
• Navigate across the business as a data steward, introducing data governance frameworks, policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
• Implement and build the enterprise data warehouse or data lake using modern storage technologies and methodologies.
• Assist ongoing or future projects with data architecture solutions, creating architecture blueprints, and overseeing implementation alignment with produced blueprints.
• Contribute to solution architecture practice by recommending standards for data architecture description and guiding solution architects in meeting those standards.
• Use tools and models to provide a future-state view of the data landscape free from proprietary constraints.
• Influence data strategy by providing strategic, information-based recommendations to safeguard the organization from disruptions while embracing innovation.
• Assist the Data Management team by recommending actions for governance processes and strategies.
• Create and manage data models, including conceptual models, relational database designs, and message models.
• Explore the impact of business strategy changes on data management practices with the Enterprise Architecture team to extract additional value from existing data assets.

What You Need to Succeed:

• University degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, including data modeling, governance, master data management, data quality, data stewardship, and data warehousing/business intelligence.
• 8+ years in a formal Data Architecture role within a complex development organization.
• 7+ years of data integration experience, data modeling, and backend services development using APIs and stored procedures.
• 5+ years of experience with various technology tools such as AWS S3 buckets, Snowflake, and Informatica IICS.
• Extensive experience in establishing data warehouses/lakes and cloud-based data storage solutions (AWS S3).
• Strong expertise with data stacks like Snowflake, Informatica IICS, and Informatica Axon, alongside their data models.
• Understands data-driven system integration, establishing canonical data models, and working with XML and JSON-based data formats.
• Experienced with leading BI platforms such as Power BI and Tableau.
• Skilled in data architecture description techniques and understanding data representation in business and application process models.
• Experience in data warehousing/data lake, business intelligence, and data analytics.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies (Cloud, Data Lake, Predictive Analytics/Forecasting, Data Mining) is an asset.
• Exposure to solution and enterprise architecture practices is a plus.
