Job Description

• Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data architecture solutions.
• Implement data integration solutions to gather and merge data from various sources.
• Design and create scalable and efficient data models, whilst evaluating and choosing appropriate data storage and processing technologies for big data applications.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and data scientists to ensure data is readily accessible for advanced analytics and machine learning applications.
• Establish data governance and security policies to ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements, whilst facilitating seamless data availability and sharing to meet business objectives.
• Optimise and fine-tune data architectures for performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Create and maintain documentation for data architecture and data flows.
• Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in big data and data management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Significant industry experience (10+ years) as a Data Architect with a focus on big data solutions
• Extensive knowledge of data modeling, database design, and data storage concepts.
• Proficiency in working with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Expertise in Data Lake and Databricks
• Expertise in data integration, ETL processes, and data pipeline development.
• Proficiency with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Expertise in data governance and security is highly advantageous.
