Responsibilities

As a Data Architect at Nisum, you will:

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and build new API integrations to manage increasing data volume and complexity.
• Work both as an individual contributor and leader of the data team to deliver high-quality solutions on time.
• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to refine data models that enhance business intelligence tools, improve data accessibility, and encourage data-driven decision-making.
• Create and document unit and integration tests, contribute to the engineering wiki, and document your work.
• Conduct data analysis to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
• Define company data assets (data models), Spark, Spark SQL, and Hive SQL jobs to populate data models.
• Work closely with all business units and engineering teams to develop a long-term data engineering platform architecture.
• Design end-to-end data solutions using industry best practices and design patterns.
• Implement governance, access, and security policies to ensure optimal use of resources, cost, and performance.
• Ensure data quality and availability for critical stakeholders and business processes through robust monitoring systems.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• A minimum of 10 years of ETL and Data Engineering experience.
• Experience as a solutions architect or senior data engineer in data-intensive solutions design (streaming, batch, migrations).
• Proficiency in modern data ingestion processes (data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses).
• Experience in data governance models.
• Familiarity with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Azure cloud data services, Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and PySpark.
• More than 8 years of experience in Data Engineering and ETL tools (e.g., Teradata, Ab Initio).
• Proficiency in object-oriented or functional programming languages, such as Python or Scala.
• Advanced SQL knowledge with experience in working with both structured and unstructured datasets.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Applications, or a related field is required.
