Runwise () is a fast-paced, customer-focused climate-tech startup. We control and manage key energy systems—heating, water, and more—in over 7,500 buildings across the US. Our unique hardware and software solutions significantly cut energy usage, reducing both costs and carbon output. Impressively, our technology currently eliminates the equivalent of 80,000 cars' worth of carbon emissions yearly.

Role and Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, you will work closely with software engineers, product managers, and business leaders to build reliable, scalable data pipelines. You'll transform raw data into essential business metrics and develop custom visualization tools to surface insights. Given our small team size, this role demands a high degree of autonomy, strong technical judgment, and full-stack data capabilities from pipeline development to business metrics and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute significantly to our core data pipeline and infrastructure.
  • Utilize AWS services like Kinesis, Athena, and AppFlow, along with custom Go code, to ingest and transform data.
  • Write efficient Go code and SQL to process billions of data points annually.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer.
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with Golang.
  • Passionate about building new products.
  • Extensive experience with AWS services such as DynamoDB, Kinesis, and Athena.
  • Some experience with AWS Lambda.
  • Strong background in building data architecture.
  • Keen interest in working with systems at scale.

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $130,000 - $150,000, based on experience and market rate.
