Job Description:

We are actively seeking a proficient Data Engineer to develop a robust infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your primary role will be to transition an existing legacy data lake into a scalable and secure cloud-based solution, optimizing our data analytics capabilities to support our expanding requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the assessment, design, planning, and migration of on-premise or cloud-based data lakes to Google BigQuery.
• Analyze current systems, including flows, data pipelines, schemas, and reports.
• Implement Data Governance best practices and tools in GCP like Data Catalog, Data Lineage, and Data Quality.
• Optimizing datasets and analytics infrastructure for enhanced performance.
• Handle ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) or ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes, job orchestration, and scheduling requirements.
• Develop continuous integration plans between applications and coordinate with business units utilizing data solutions.
• Provide strategic recommendations for future-state data transformations, data lake enhancements, or data analytics approaches.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with technologies such as BigQuery, DataFlow, SQL, and Python.
• Proven expertise in migrating data warehouses to BigQuery.
• Proficiency in English, minimum B2+/C1 level.

Additional Information:

Contract Type: Remote, B2B contract based in Poland.
Compensation: Up to 135 PLN/hour net + VAT.
Project Start Date: June 2024.
Project Duration: 6 months with potential for extension.
