Job Description

As a Data Engineer at Merkle Bulgaria, you will harness a variety of skills spanning data and cloud engineering to drive significant business insights. Reporting directly to the Data Engineering Manager, your role will encompass understanding client-specific needs across multiple sectors, collaborating across Merkle's extensive service spectrum, and devising robust technical solutions. Your contributions will not only vary with the maturity of the client projects but also allow you to expand your skillset under the mentorship of a Solutions Architect.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Designing innovative data solutions for diverse client needs.
• Implementing state-of-the-art cloud solutions using an extensive range of cloud components.
• Contributing your expertise both locally and globally, influencing client strategies and solutions with your industry knowledge.
• Supporting Data Scientists, Ecommerce teams, and broader Merkle initiatives.
• Providing technical consultancy to demystify data's potential for clients.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will possess profound knowledge in data and cloud engineering, emphasizing data optimization, pipelines, ETL, and data modeling. Key qualifications include:

• Proficient implementation of Data Lake patterns in Azure, including partition policies and role-based access controls.
• Diverse cloud and data engineering capabilities with practical experience in Python, Spark, Scala, or similar technologies.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD in ETL/data transformation, Azure functions, Data Factory, Databricks, and SQL databases.
• Familiarity with GitHub for deployment across integrated client environments.
• Effective collaboration skills, both within internal teams and with external clients.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in writing clean, organized code and working in an Agile setting.

Additional beneficial skills include knowledge of Terraform, Azure certification, and experiences with Synapse/Fabric and Cosmos DB.
