Data Engineer (Cloud Services) - Senior Position Overview

Far Ridgeline Engagements LLC (a QinetiQ US Company) seeks an experienced Cloud Data Engineer/Developer to lead a dynamic team for a US Department of Defense operations support project. This role involves creating modern, cloud-based solutions to help customers securely store and analyze data using the latest data and analytics technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead development, maintenance, and operations of client cloud-based platforms, enhancing functionality to meet emerging needs and increased user load.
• Monitor and optimize cloud-native resources, manage user access, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system scalability and automation.
• Organize backlog, develop features and stories, and execute work in sprints.
• Develop new software features based on user engagements, identify automation opportunities, and improve task efficiency for operations and end-users.
• Lead client meetings, report status, and coordinate with the product owner.
• Remove barriers for the Agile SCRUM team to work effectively.

Required Qualifications:

• Clear communication skills with the ability to train personnel and provide 24-hour technical support.
• Up-to-date knowledge of security vulnerabilities and capability to administer patches.
• Provide auditing and logging capabilities.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related STEM program, or four years of equivalent experience as a Cloud Systems Engineer.
• Active TS/SCI clearance; CI Polygraph or willingness to take a polygraph exam.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with provisioning virtual resources and building infrastructures in AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Digital Ocean clouds.
• Strong scripting skills for automation and cloud resource configuration.
• Knowledge of AWS Cloud Formation, JSON, and Python scripting languages.
• Experience with serverless provisioning such as AWS Lambda or Docker containers with Kubernetes.
• Advanced understanding of VPCs, VPN intern, and commercial cloud routing.
