Job Description

What you get to do in this role:

• Ensure company data policies and procedures are adhered to ensure data quality and reduced discrepancies
• Obtain approvals for data access based on business needs
• Create and maintain scalable automated ETL/ELT jobs
• Identify data integrity issues and conduct thorough investigations to find the root cause
• Use PL/SQL queries, Python, and API calls to establish master data sets and integrate datasets from disparate systems
• Train analysts and data scientists on available data sources
• Ensure optimal operation of large databases and compute clusters
• Implement and maintain database structures and governance
• Create and maintain documentation on databases and production tables
• Collaborate across various data teams in the company to meet analytics deliverables

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you need:

• 5 years of experience in consulting, business intelligence, analytics or an equivalent analyst position, with experience in PL/SQL and another object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and provide reports to different stakeholders simultaneously
• Structured thinking abilities to easily dissect ambiguous problems and propose impactful data modeling designs
• A passion for analyzing large, complex datasets and transforming them into useful business decision-making information
• Attention to detail, organization, and effective verbal/written communication skills
• Experience with big data instances: Cloudera, Azure, Snowflake, etc.
• Proven effectiveness in rolling out self-service analytics solutions (e.g., Tableau Server Ask Data, etc)
• Solid decision-making, negotiation, and persuasion skills, often in ambiguous situations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements
• Understanding of technology development projects and the full technology development life cycle
