The Role: Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer at KION, you'll be a vital part of our expanding global Big Data Analytics & AI Platform. This role revolves around supporting a wide range of analytical and machine learning projects, ensuring efficient and insightful data use across the company.

Main Responsibilities

  • Designing and operating robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
  • Building and implementing data transformations in Dremio and Databricks tailored to our business needs.
  • Developing frameworks for data quality and governance.
  • Supporting different project teams with Big Data insights and advanced data strategies.
  • Maintaining and optimizing ETL processes and analytics platform architecture.
  • Consulting with business partners to enhance data driven strategies effectively.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years in data engineering or related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud-based data storage and processing platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Powershell, Bash, or similar programming languages.
  • Familiarity with IoT data and technologies such as Kafka.
  • Experience in software development best practices (e.g., testing, Git, CI/CD).
  • Ability to solve complex data issues, deliver substantial data value, and effectively communicate in English (C1/C2).
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 10%.
