About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our AI team. You will play a pivotal role in developing state-of-the-art geospatial AI models by creating robust, automated, and efficient data pipelines. These pipelines will transform terabytes of satellite data into machine learning-ready formats, facilitating large-scale model training.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines for large-scale geospatial raster data.
- Automate data workflows using orchestration engines such as Prefect.
- Manage and optimize relational databases, ensuring data integrity and performance (experience with PostgreSQL and Snowflake preferred).
- Continuously improve data processing frameworks, addressing challenges in large-scale Machine Learning pipelines and satellite image processing.
- Ensure data selection, observability, and versioning for both data and models, along with automated data QA.
Your Profile
- Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining high-throughput data pipelines, especially for raster data.
- Strong expertise in creating and managing ETL pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python, with a focus on writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Knowledge of parallel computing, concurrent programming, and performance optimization for high-volume data processing.
- A proactive problem-solver with a willingness to tackle challenging and broad technical topics, driving innovation to enhance data quality and process efficiency.
- Understanding of geospatial and remote sensing data processing techniques is a significant plus.
- Experience with Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) tools and practices at scale is desirable.
- Skilled in managing relational databases, such as PostgreSQL and Snowflake, with a solid understanding of database design and query optimization.
- Willingness to relocate to or currently residing in Berlin.
