Position Overview:

Join Mercari, Inc., a leading technology company located at 3101 Park Blvd, Palo Alto, CA 94306, as a Data Engineer. This role entails designing, constructing, and managing large-scale ETL pipelines, automating processes, and contributing to our data infrastructure using advanced Big Data technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, operate, and scale ETL pipelines.
• Automate workflows for data and machine learning products.
• Create robust data structures and develop data platforms using Python, Spark, and BigQuery.
• Build and manage DevOps platforms for CI/CD stacks for ETL applications.
• Maintain and optimize applications, profiling, and debugging as necessary.
• Work remotely within the U.S. as the position allows.

Salary & Work Schedule:

• Full-time position: 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday.
• Salary varies by location:
  • Zone 1: $210,662.00 - $218,500.00 (San Francisco Bay Area, New York City)
  • Zone 2: $210,662.00 (Austin, Boston, Los Angeles, Seattle)
  • Zone 3: $210,662.00 (Denver, St. Louis, Houston)

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Five years of experience in roles such as Data Engineer or Data Specialist.
• Proficiency in:
  • Big Data technologies and tools like Apache Spark, Confluence, JIRA, and GIT.
  • Several programming languages and frameworks including Java, Python, and Agile methodologies.
  • Machine learning technologies such as Tensorflow, Keras, or Scikit-Learn.
  • Expertise in databases and data processing tools.
  • Experience with cloud services particularly in Google Cloud platforms.
