The responsibilities of a Data Engineer include designing and structuring data environments for Zirous’ customers to cater to their immediate and future reporting and analytics requirements. This role involves strategy & environment design in conjunction with hands-on execution. The perfect candidate is a database expert with a broad experience in data modeling, SQL development, and creating scalable cloud environments in Azure, AWS, or similar platforms. The position entails: - Coordinating with the Zirous technical team and client teams on strategy and implementation details - Collaborating with a project team to gather business and technical requirements - Leading a team in creating cloud solutions for Zirous clients - Liaising closely with Project Managers to make sure of successful project implementation - Providing expert hands-on technical support, consulting, and coaching to clients - Developing and overseeing technical strategies and undertakings that leverage existing technologies as well as introduce new technologies that address business needs efficiently - Completing evaluation, selection, and management of technology partners to supplement Zirous’ subject matter knowledge - Performing other duties as assigned This position allows a hybrid work model that includes remote work from home on Monday & Friday, and in-office work at the West Des Moines, IA office on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Requirements: - 5+ years of experience in leading data warehouse implementations and managing intricate system architectures. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or in a related field or equivalent work experience. A master’s degree in a related field is a plus. - Deep understanding and extensive experience with data structures, object-oriented and declarative programming. - Excellent communication skills, analytical abilities, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with clients and staff. - Strong organizational skills and a capacity to meet project deadlines with a focus on detail. - 5+ years of experience with technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake Gen 2, Logic Apps, Fabric, Azure SQL Database, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, Java, XML, AWS, Oracle, Google Cloud, Snowflake, Alteryx, R, Python, Tableau, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Qlik Sense, Google Data Studio, Looker, Quicksight, Microsoft Purview, Jira, and Confluence.
