POSITION: Data Engineer II JOB LOCATION: Jersey City, NJ/ May travel to various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. This is a telecommuting position with remote benefit from anywhere in the U.S. Travel is required. Job Description: Construct robust data pipelines/ETL tools from internal/external data sources; work collaboratively to address/predict data performance bottlenecks; automate business processes requiring data manipulation, aggregation, sharing; perform Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using Agile/Waterfall methodology, MS SQL Server, PL/SQL, TSQL, SSMS; use Reporting tools (Tableau), ETL tools (Informatica Powercenter, Oracle); use web technologies (JavaScript, XML, UNIX shell scripting), Data architecture (Data design, modeling, Data analysis); create monitoring tools/metrics to keep system in "healthy" state; maintain existing pipelines; research new data sources for data acquisition for consumers; prepare data predictive/prescriptive modeling for Risk Department to develop fraud models; identify, design, implement internal process improvements (automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, re-design infrastructure for greater scalability); work with key stakeholders across company to plan/execute improvements in data collection/enrichment; enable effective decision making by retrieving/aggregating data from multiple sources; compile data into actionable format; manage data governance of different data sources/structure to create centralized data catalog; full ownership for user management/permissions policy (in our internal systems/ external services being used); promote high-level of data privacy standards in company’s data stores/pipelines; work closely with Compliance; research new technologies for improved data pipelines/streams; keep abreast of new/ advanced technologies; automate manual processes used by multiple non-technical teams; integrate/onboard visualization tools (Metabase) allowing multiple departments accessing company’s data easily; research/utilize new AWS services for cleansing data; design/maintain a retention policy; archive data accordingly; maintain up-to-date versions of all tools used by the team; perform needed versions upgrades; design/create monitoring dashboards, alerting mechanisms to monitor/ensure data is up-to-date/actively syncing; and work with Marketing department to close identified data gaps for marketing campaigns. May travel to various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. This is a telecommuting position with remote benefit from anywhere in U.S. Travel is required. Job Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering plus 2 years experience. Experience to include performing SDLC using Agile/Waterfall methodology, MS SQL Server, PL/SQL, TSQL, SSMS; Reporting tools (Tableau), ETL tools (Informatica Powercenter, Oracle); and Web technologies (JavaScript, XML, UNIX shell scripting), Data architecture (Data design, modeling, Data analysis). May travel to various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. This is a telecommuting position with remote benefit from anywhere in U.S. Travel is required.
