Job Description

The role involves developing and maintaining a comprehensive data architecture across several application platforms and providing capabilities across these platforms. The job involves designing, building, operationalising, securing, and monitoring data pipelines and data stores in line with applicable architecture, solution designs, standards, policies, and governance requirements. This role makes data accessible for evaluation and optimisation for downstream use cases. Data engineering duties are executed according to standards, frameworks, and roadmaps.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's Degree in Business Commerce, Information Studies or Information Technology is required.

Experience Required

• A minimum of 5-7 years' experience in building databases, warehouses, reporting and data integration solutions. This includes experience in building and optimising big data pipelines, architectures, and data sets. Experience in creating and integrating APIs, performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement is necessary.
• 8-10 years of understanding data pipelining and performance optimisation, data principles, and how data fits within an organization including customers, products, and transactional information. Knowledge of integration patterns, styles, protocols, and systems theory is a must.
• 8-10 years of experience in database programming languages including SQL, PL/SQL, SPARK and appropriate data tooling. Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools is essential.
