About This Position

As a Data Engineer at Hearst Magazines, you'll collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and product managers to develop advanced data solutions. Leveraging tools like GCP and other cloud technologies, you will lead efforts in data integration and optimization to drive business decisions and innovations.

What You'll Do

You will:

• Utilize GCP data tools such as BigQuery and Dataflow to manage extensive data processes.
• Develop storage solutions across filesystems and databases (SQL, NoSQL).
• Build and maintain ETL and ELT pipelines using Python and SQL.
• Optimize performance through advanced profiling and tuning techniques.
• Engage with complex data issues and provide robust technical solutions.
• Explore potential integration with AWS cloud services and graph databases.

Who You Are

You are a forward-thinking professional with:

• At least 3 years of experience as a senior data engineer.
• Expertise in data modeling, warehousing, and the Google data services stack.
• A commitment to applying software engineering best practices to data tasks.
• A strong interest in continuous learning and improvement in data handling.
• Knowledge of digital advertising technologies and data processing types.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and a fast-paced work environment.

Location & Salary

This full-time remote position offers a competitive salary range of $113,000 to $128,000, depending on skills and experience. Candidates can be based in any of 18 states where Hearst Magazines operates, including CA, TX, NY, and VA.
