Job Description
- As a Data Engineer, you are responsible for the development of interfaces for data exchange between different IT systems (SAP, MES, EI, etc.) of a semiconductor production. In this context, you develop and implement new, cross-departmental IT systems.
- With your expertise, you take over the identification of data stocks and the understanding of customer requirements for data processing. The assessment and documentation of data structures in existing, production-related databases and storage systems, as well as within the Data Warehouse / Data Lake, are also part of your responsibilities.
- Moreover, you are responsible for the development and rollout of automated and scalable pipelines for loading production-related databases and file shares into the Data Warehouse / Data Lake, and data preparation within the Smart Data Warehouse / Data Lake following pre-determined Data Governance agreements.
- The consideration of measures for securing data integrity and security and their monitoring are part of your tasks, as well as the documentation of the data landscape and of input / output of the ETL pipelines.
- Furthermore, you take over the merging of standardized or partly individual data structures from the worldwide production network, as well as the consideration of different interests between project management, customers, service providers, and existing IT framework conditions.
Qualifications
- Education: completed university degree (Bachelor/Master/Diploma) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable course of study
- Experience and Knowledge: project management experience and practical experience in the field of agile software development and current IT solutions, expertise in Oracle DB, Hadoop, or SQL, experience in the administration and operation of Linux systems is an advantage, very good programming experience in a high-level language (C#, Java, Python), demonstrable experience in working with large amounts of data is an advantage
- Personality and Work Style: excellent understanding of production-oriented IT and data architectures, independent working, proactive, team-oriented, communicative, resilient, and a conceptual approach
- Enthusiasm: willingness to travel abroad for several weeks
- Languages: very good German and English, written and spoken
