LEW Wasserkraft GmbH operates 36 hydropower plants across Lech, Wertach, Iller, Günz, and Danube. These plants collectively generate approximately one billion kilowatt-hours of renewable energy annually, providing clean power to about 320,000 households. As part of our dedication to digital transformation, we seek a skilled Data Engineer to lead and innovate our data processes.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer, you will take a proactive approach in overseeing all data related aspects and develop an overarching data strategy that enhances our operational efficiency and data utilization. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Designing and implementing data pipelines to capture and integrate data from various sources, ensuring they remain current and functional.
  • Constructing optimized data models that maintain integrity and provide high-quality, complete, and consistent data.
  • Employing state-of-the-art Big Data architectures within a Microsoft environment to manage significant volume and complexity.
  • Applying your practical experience in data management and storage methods, enhancing our system's capabilities.
  • Collaborating with fellow Data Analysts and Data Scientists within LEW Gruppe and across the E.ON Group to share knowledge and gain data-driven insights.

What We Look For:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in IT, with possibly a focus on data, or equivalent training; alternatively, significant hands-on experience in Big Data as a career changer.
  • Extensive knowledge and autonomous application skills in Big Data frameworks, including familiarity with concepts like Data Lake, Data Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse.
  • Proficiency in Python programming, data pipeline construction, ETL processes, Big Data technologies, and databases.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure), Microsoft Fabric, IoT, or real-time data processing is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills in both German and English to interact with various stakeholders.
