Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer, you'll work alongside the Director of Data Engineering, Business Intelligence Leads, and other data engineers to design and maintain our Power BI (PBI) infrastructure. Your role will involve:

  • Connecting business unit BI Leads and Data Engineering Solutions Architect to optimize the CSI Common Data Model for timely, actionable analysis and reporting.
  • Designing and developing high-quality, scalable data assets that support contemporary BI tools and advanced analytics.
  • Maintaining existing and developing new data pipelines and flows.
  • Implementing top-notch data-visualization and reporting solutions with the CSI Common Data Model and Power BI.
  • Ensuring accurate data verification processes across business units.
  • Prototyping innovative solutions using emerging technologies to meet evolving business needs.
  • Consulting on short and long-term business requirements, offering solutions that anticipate future changes.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional IT stakeholders and evaluating stakeholder requests in collaboration with the product owner.
  • Formulating efficient, cost-effective analytics and data aggregation solutions.
  • Engaging in advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive modeling, data mining, and machine learning for actionable insights.
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement by adopting best practices and optimizing processes.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:

  • 3+ years of direct experience in data modeling and/or engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in data, analytics, reporting, and/or BI roles
  • Expertise in SQL, MS Synapse, MS Power BI, and related tools
  • Experience building Power BI Data Pipelines and Data Flows
  • Familiarity with MS D365 F&O and CRM functionalities
  • Strong collaborative skills with a bias towards action and measurable results
  • Self-starter capable of working effectively both remotely and independently

Educational Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, IT, engineering, or a related field is required. Alternatively, 5 years of relevant professional experience.

Work Environment and Travel

The position requires minimal travel (approx. 5%, about 3 weeks per year) to other CSI offices, manufacturing, and distribution centers.
