We are currently seeking a skilled Data Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team in either London or Munich.

Your Team

The Pricing Data Engineering & Automation team is part of the Global Pricing department at Allianz Commercial. Our mission is to drive the development of data solutions for Pricing across Allianz Commercial globally. Join our dynamic international department located across major cities like London, Munich, Bucharest, Chicago, and New York.

The Impact You Will Have

In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Pricing Data Engineering & Automation and other key stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain data pipelines, interrogate data, and implement innovative solutions that support advanced pricing. You will collaborate with multiple stakeholders, both within the Pricing Function and across other Allianz Commercial functions, to bring structured, impactful solutions that maximize data potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines within our Spark-based data platform to enhance Pricing capabilities.
• Design and implement data-driven solutions using both internal and external data sources.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Pricing Actuaries, and Predictive Modellers to deliver innovative data solutions for predictive pricing.
• Implement solutions adhering to the Data Engineering teams’ best practices and participate in code reviews.
• Support the development of reporting dashboards and necessary application development.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• Minimum of four years' experience working with SQL and/or PySpark for data-focused solutions, ideally in a P&C environment.
• BSc or MSc in a Numerical field, preferably with a strong focus on Computer Science or Data Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in ETL (Extract Transform Load) development and data pipeline management.
• Knowledge in Python, R, or other coding languages in addition to SQL.
• Familiarity with cloud-based solutions such as Palantir Foundry, AWS, Azure, GCP, and Snowflake.
• Understanding of engineering principles such as automated testing and performance optimization.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Self-motivated, independent, organized, and resourceful.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.
