Salary & Compensation

The role offers a base salary of GBP 35,520 with an additional Market Premium Payment (MPP) of GBP 3,100. Note our pay structures are under review with changes anticipated in 2024, enhancing career progression opportunities.

Role Summary: Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer, you will significantly impact our hardware/software development projects, especially in advanced computing infrastructure essential for managing big data in fusion energy research.

Your Impact:

  • Lead efforts in High Throughput and cloud-based computing for critical experiments.
  • Collaborate internationally on approximately 3-4 major projects annually.
  • Enhance our capabilities in data delivery, storage, and high-performance computing.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience in software development lifecycle and proficiency in a high-level programming language.

Desirable Capabilities

  • Additional skills in Python, Matlab, C++, or Julia are favorable.
  • Connection to global HPC networks and familiarity with modern database technologies.
