As a big data engineer at Booz Allen, you'll utilize your skills and experience to carry out data engineering tasks on some of the most mission-critical projects in the sector. You'll build and launch the pipelines and platforms that make varied data meaningful. You Have: - At least 2 years of experience with Python and SQL - At least 2 years of experience with the whole ETL pipeline, including data acquisition, data preparation, and database architecture - Practical experience in creating software for retrieving, parsing, and processing structured and unstructured data - Practice in building scalable ETL or ELT workflows for reporting and analytics - Exposure to creating solutions within a cooperative, cross-functional team environment - Capacity to construct scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats and support the project team to scale, monitor, and control data platforms - Secret security clearance - Bachelor’s degree Nice If You Have: - Experience with a public cloud, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud - Experience with data engineering projects supporting data science and AI/ML implementation - Knowledge on containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes - Expertise with distributed data or computing tools like Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, or Kafka - Past work on real-time data and streaming applications - Experience with NoSQL implementation using MongoDB or Cassandra - Familiarity with data warehousing, including AWS Redshift, MySQL, or Snowflake - Experience with Unix or Linux, including basic commands and Shell scripting - Experience with Agile engineering methods Clearance: Applicants chosen will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required. At Booz Allen, salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected salary range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
