Join Our Team as a Data Engineer Specialist at METRO/MAKRO

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer Specialist to support our Data Engineer Leader in enhancing and continuously improving our data pipeline architecture. This role is crucial in optimizing data flows and collection to bolster the development of data analysis tools and operational instruments in a comprehensive manner.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer Specialist, you will:

• Assist the team in building the required infrastructure for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading from a variety of data sources using SQL and data mining technologies.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and specifically with the FP&A department to define data enrichment and automation needs for integration into the MDW flex area / D.ANA. (Google Cloud Platform/BigQuery) in collaboration with IS.
• Assemble large and complex data sets that meet functional and non-functional business requirements.
• Blend data from various sources to create ad-hoc analyses.
• Develop basic analytical tools utilizing the data pipeline to provide insights on customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.
• Create basic interactive dashboards to monitor and uncover insights on relevant KPIs for ad-hoc analysis using Microstrategy and Qlik Sense technologies.
• In partnership with the manager, create systems for automatic anomaly detection and continuously monitor performance.
• Maintain and update the infrastructure, datasets, and analytical tools over time.
• Manage all operational tasks and related activities connected to the role.

Technical Skills and Qualifications

Education: Degree in Computer Science or Engineering is preferred.
Experience: At least 1 year in a similar role or related fields.
Technical Proficiency:

• Strong knowledge of database technologies.
• Proficient in SQL.
• Experienced in data extraction, transformation, and loading techniques from various disconnected datasets.
• Good knowledge of major data visualization tools, preferably Microstrategy and Qlik Sense.
• Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office.
