Data Engineer Responsibilities:

Join our Data Architecture and Development group, where we are seeking a Data Engineer ready to tackle unique and complex challenges across various domains such as defense systems, space, and biotechnology. Manage Data-as-a-Service architectures for data stakeholders, ensuring data quality, protection, and availability. We employ modern, scalable, and secure technologies to optimize data definitions, storage, retrieval, and pipelines.

The ideal candidate is skilled in data modeling, database technologies, data pipelines, and model-based engineering applications like digital thread and digital twin. An effective team player capable of working independently and with cross-functional teams is essential. Strong communication skills are required to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders. The role demands flexibility, a commitment to continuous learning, and professional growth.

Qualifications for Data Engineer:

Required:

  • BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in data engineering
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or MATLAB®
  • Familiarity with RESTful API and web-based user interfaces
  • Experience in using data analytics and visualization tools
  • Strong experience in data coding, manipulation, storage optimization, and documentation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of different database systems (relational, graph, NoSQL)
  • Understanding of AI, ML, or NLP
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies
  • Experience with Agile Development principles
