Job Description: Data Engineer

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer who excels in developing data pipelines, ensuring data quality at scale, and has experience in sourcing and preparing data for various processes.

Role Summary

As a Data Engineer, you will join a dynamic team tasked with sourcing and preparing data for data science and AI/ML operations. Your role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining web scraping solutions to gather relevant data for our products. Ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of collected data will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand requirements and develop solutions.
• Develop web scraping scripts and tools to extract data from various websites.
• Maintain and troubleshoot existing scripts as necessary.
• Utilize database querying languages to access and manipulate data.
• Mentor junior team members and document processes and data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in using relational databases.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, XPath, and other related protocols.
• Experience with data orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Proficiency in ELT/ETL tools.
• Experience with database querying languages.
• 3+ years of experience with Python.

Educational and Professional Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in Data Engineering or a related role such as Data Analyst or Data Operations Engineer.
• Exposure to ML models and interfacing with them.
• Experience with data lakes and warehouse architecture.
