Job Description

The Data Science team is youthful, versatile, and expanding. As we're still fairly small, you'll have a key role in shaping its future. As a Data engineer consultant, you will be involved in various client projects as well as in the creation of our proprietary Sia AI solutions, in collaboration with our French Data Engineering team:

• Cloud Services at GCP, AWS, and Azure: decision-making on architecture, usage of storage and compute services, cost tracking and optimization, role management, Infrastructure as Code
• Docker and Kubernetes: containerization and orchestration of applications, management of K8s clusters tailored to Data Science tasks
• Python programming: developing server-side tools (bulk data processing, REST API server, authentication,...)
• CI/CD: managing the integration and constant deployment of our applications and internal platforms, aiding the deployment of Data Science projects at our clients' sites
• Data pipelines: developing scripts in Big Data environments
• Infrastructures & Services tailored to Machine Learning: technology watch and implementation of solutions beneficial to Data Scientists in the learning and supply of their ML models.

Qualifications

• You possess a Master’s Degree with a robust quantitative component (i.e. Econometrics, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance)
• You have 1-3 years of pertinent experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud, or Software Engineering.
• You have a proficient level in Python and have a sound foundation in other languages. You're acquainted with at least one SQL DBMS (optimally PostgreSQL) and ideally noSQL (preferably MongoDB).
• Preferably, you are already familiar with at least one cloud services platform (GCP, AWS, Azure) with experience in incorporating different services within the same project. If not, you demonstrate a strong desire to learn more about these topics.
• You are comfortable using Docker, automating CI/CD pipelines and have a keen interest in acquiring proficiency in Kubernetes if you do not yet have experience with this solution.
• You're capable of working with a DevOps culture, taking responsibility for the lifecycle of the code, from development to deployment and maintenance of applications (proficiency in the Gitlab-CE ecosystem is advantageous). You're also familiar with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools (preferably Terraform).
• You demonstrate sensitivity to security issues and have experience in applying application protection solutions (certificate management, HTTPS security, OAuth2 authentication, credential management)
• You possess excellent interpersonal and team working skills
• Superior English, Dutch and French verbal and written skills are required.
