Job Purpose

The HR Data Insights team within the Microsoft Digital engineering division is focused on enabling decision agility through reliable and secure data and insights. We have an excellent opportunity for a Data Engineer to contribute to our dynamic, employee-centered data engineering team. We seek a customer-focused professional with a growth mindset, a passion for improving employee experiences, and a flair for experimental problem-solving. The Data & Insights team, spread across various locations, develops crucial data products and insights on people data to underpin strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities

Your role will involve building scalable data models and data pipelines for optimal extraction, loading, and transformation of data, ensuring data security, quality, and compliance. You'll design and implement processes to integrate data from multiple sources, stored across diverse platforms, into coherent and manageable structures. By creating and maintaining standards and assurance processes, you will ensure the compatibility and operability of various data flows and storage solutions. You will actively collaborate with teams across Microsoft to enhance the employee experience while maintaining data governance and customer privacy.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, combined with at least 4 years of deep technical industry experience. Experience in Business Intelligence & Analytics, Cloud Services, and Productivity Applications is essential. A background in Spark, Azure Data technologies, big data tools, and data analytics, along with exceptional data visualization skills, is highly desirable. Experience in Machine Learning or Predictive Modeling would be a significant advantage. We value strong communication skills, collaboration, and proven self-directed execution capabilities.
